Bi Metallic Terminals

Bi-metallic Terminals or lugs are specially designed connectors used for joining aluminium cables to copper busbars, terminals, or equipment. They combine a high-conductivity aluminium barrel with a copper palm, permanently friction-welded together to create a strong and corrosion-resistant joint. This prevents galvanic reaction between dissimilar metals, ensuring a safe, long-lasting electrical connection. These lugs provide a safe, permanent connection in power distribution, switchgear, control panels, and industrial installations. Manufactured to meet IEC/BS standards.

Applications

    • LV and MV power cable terminations
    • Switchgear, transformers, and distribution boards
    • Industrial control panels and power supply equipment
    • Renewable energy systems (solar, wind, battery storage)
    • Anywhere aluminium conductors must connect to copper busbars

We would recommend using an indent crimper as Aluminium is a softer metal then Copper.
