Our in-house design and manufacture team are increasingly servicing this important sector as new infrastructure is rolled out in the UK and across the world.

Telecoms Case Study

Vodafone have been looking to standardise the crimp tools being used by their field engineers. They were looking to kit out their vans with a reliable, yet affordable solution. They had been looking at a battery-operated mechanical tool manufactured by a leading brand, but they approached Total Connections to see what we could offer them.

We made several suggestions and they settled on the Stanley Dubuis D36, a calibrated manual hydraulic crimp tool. In their own assessment of the tool, they were happy with the quality of the crimping as well as the economy provided.

Total Connections have also conducted pull tests on the cable assemblies and found the tool to be consistently providing a safe and secure crimp. In the first instance, they ordered 46 of these crimp tools, with further orders to follow once these have been field tested. Once again, this illustrated the quality and value that the Stanley Dubuis range of crimping and cutting tools can provide to market-leading telecoms companies.
