Total Connections has worked collaboratively with a number of market-leading companies in the automotive sector to design and manufacture electrical terminations, busbars and earthing equipment for vehicles and associated manufacturing process infrastructure. This has included Formula 1 racing cars - testimony to the high standards of quality and bespoke design we can provide.
From the very beginning, we have worked on a number of successful projects with automotive companies - supplying a mix of standard products and custom-built electrical connections, busbars and earthing solutions. Market leaders in their fields have included the likes of McLaren, Jaguar, Caterpillar and JCB - who have come to associate the Total Connections brand with quality, agile production and high design standards.
Automotive Case Study
Originally approached with a concept that was not possible to manufacture, McLaren set the Design Team the task of re-designing the lug. The lug required a number of revisions before all parties were satisfied with the final product.
The lug was then rapid-prototyped to ensure that it fitted into the desired position in the car - an alternator used in their non-production motorsport cars. Manufactured from C101 copper with a 10 micron nickel plate, it is manufactured in batches of 500 and supplied twice a year to McLaren to support their motorsport division.
