We have provided bespoke data centre solutions as part of data rack technology including bespoke data rack earth bars, busbars, and customised terminations. Across a range of data centres, applications have included data storage systems, environmental controls, fire suppression and power supply infrastructure. Our products help deliver uninterruptible power supply, battery installations and back-up generators to ensure full redundancy.

Data Centres Case Study

Facebook approached Total Connections to design and manufacture low voltage double hole lugs that were to be deployed in one of its Irish data centres. The request was for bespoke terminations which were designed to bridge metric cable to an imperial stud configuration. The cables were 16mmsq and they had to connect to studs that required 1/4" holes with 5/8" centres.

Total Connections designed and manufactured hybrid high voltage lugs, with the initial order being for the supply of over 20,000 units. This was to support a data centre in Ireland, but Total Connections has also supplied Facebook for data centres in Denmark and Sweden.

We have also supplied data centres operated by Microsoft, Google, Virtus, as well as data centres kitted out by Mercury Engineering. We have also supplied earth bars to the London Fire Brigade, who operate specialist fire stations overseeing data centres in Slough, UK.
