Lattice Copper Earth Mats

Key Features & Benefits:

  • High conductivity copper strips for excellent electrical performance
  • Lattice design ensures uniform current distribution
  • Corrosion-resistant for long service life underground
  • Available in standard and custom sizes
  • Lightweight construction for easy installation
  • Improves safety by reducing step and touch voltages
  • Provides reliable low-resistance earthing
  • Long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance
  • Suitable for substations, power plants, and renewable projects
  • Cost-effective solution compared to solid earth mats

To complement our lattice earth mats, we recommend ‘Marconite Earth Electrode Backfill‘ – a reliable solution for lowering resistance to earth when installing lattice earth mats.

Copper Earth Mats

Earth mats are commonly used in high fault current situations, where using a standard earth rod for earthing protection is too difficult. For example if the surface area soil is too solid or compacted to utilise standard grounding connectors.  Lattice earth mats are also seen as a more economical option compared to solid earth mats.

A lattice or solid copper plate earth mat therefore may be a more practical, long lasting, effective and economical solution.  They cover a wide surface area enabling better contact with the surrounding soil.  Lattice earth mats are normally installed horizontally in a pre-prepared earthing pit and backfilled.  Solid earth plates are normally installed vertically and backfilled.

Our lattice earthing mats are designed to the highest standards, using C101 HDHC flat copper bar (or tape).

We assemble our mats with double riveted corner joints as standard. This ensures that the lattice is very rigid and can therefore withstand a variety of challenging conditions.

Bare copper plated earth mats can be supplied on request. We are also able to manufacture copper lattice and solid earth plates to bespoke specifications.
