Our copper sheet terminals (also known as ring terminals) are manufactured from CW0024A (C106) flat high conductivity copper sheet, with a purity greater than 99.5% copper.
They are punched from flat copper sheet and formed to make the crimp barrel. The seam of the cable insertion hole is then brazed, followed by the tinning process which is tin-plated to BS1872.
The crimp barrels are chamfered as standard to ensure easy and correct insertion of the cable.
We stock a standard range of copper sheet crimp lugs for connecting oversized studs to smaller cables. For example a 10mm^2 cable with an M20 stud hole.
However there is no limit to the options available. We have experience developing sheet terminals for OEM manufactures such as Airbus and Jaguar. We have also helped our customers develop and manufacture twin entry and open crimp versions.
For this type of lug we recommend indent crimping. We would not recommend hexagonal crimping due to the manufacturing process.
